Ebi Ebrahim Hamedi, known better by his stage name Ebi, is one of the most famous and influential Iranian singer of his time. He is widely known for his expressive voice and is considered one of the best singers of his generation. Breeding Worth is an economic index and is calculated by multiplying breeding values with the appropriate economic values. A Breeding Worth index is calculated for all recorded dairy animals, although the source of information differs slightly depending of the sex of the animal. Interesting facts •We all share 99% of our DNA •We share 98% of our DNA with a chimpanzee •The same DNA profile exists in all the cells of your body (almost!) •The DNA you’re born with is the DNA you die with •Each cell contains 3 billion pieces of DNA information Thus, breeding objectives should include all the traits that are of economic relevance. Economic Indexes Defined. In its simplest form, the selection index defines an animal’s economic merit as a parent in terms of a mathematical function an animal’s EPD are weighted by their respective economic value. The Economic Breeding Index (EBI), developed by the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF), is now widely used by Irish dairy farmers in selecting sires for their dairy herds. Teagasc’s advisory service has incorporated EBI targets into it’s advisory programme and employed a wide variety of extension methodologies to promote it. The economic selection index for multi‐trait selection has been used in animal breeding research fields and applied to animal industries since Hazel (1943 Genetics 28:476–490) first defined an aggregate genotype (or a net merit) of animals as a linear combination of unknown breeding values (BV) for each trait weighted by the economic value of the traits.

The breeding index expresses the expected economic production value of the animal considering all the traits in the breeding objective together. The breeding index is composed of various sub-indexes which express the genetic value for each trait in the breeding goal.

The application of this index would aid Beefmaster breed- ers in their sire selection decisions, facilitating genetic improvement for a terminal breeding objective. The Economic Breeding Index (EBI) was officially launched to the dairy industry in February 2001 by the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation. The EBI replaced the  Overall annual herd milk statistics 2019:Economic Breeding Index (EBI). Three economic breeding indexes are published by AHDB as part of its genetic evaluation service: Profitable Lifetime Index, Spring Calving Index and Autumn
